Traditional and progressive practices create balanced, superior performance.
Whole-herd testing is the foundation of the Waldo Genetics performance program. The Nebraska SPF Association has recorded all test data on 100% of Waldo Genetics test pigs since 1960. This independent industry group provides on-going validation of the Waldo Genetics program and symbolizes our dedication to accurate, unbiased data recording and our absolute commitment to pig improvement.
Waldo Genetics sires are tested in a real-world customer commercial system, where our sires are bred to non-Waldo females. With the oversight of the National Swine Registry, data is then collected on a minimum of 200 progeny per sire.
Testing simultaneously in both our commercial and nucleus herds provides increased data accuracy, higher predictability and faster genetic improvement.
