A recent customer close-out summary of more than 27,000 head showed greater than 97% of the pigs were marketed at full value. When combined with faster lean gain, the Waldo White Duroc delivers more pork to market and more dollars to the bottom line.
Waldo Terminal Sire Index (TSI) is consistently the nation’s highest
Waldo has a world-leading program for White Duroc, and the TSI shows steady improvement with each generation with highly accelerated improvement since 2013.
An off-test summary of Waldo White Duroc boars tested in 2015 and 2016 showed that pigs reached 250 lbs in an average of 145 days, with 0.55” back fat (BF) and 7.60” loin eye area (LEA).
Superior Lean Gain for Feed Efficiency
A recent customer performance summary showed that Waldo White Duroc sired progeny grew fast all the way through finish, while still showing an outstanding average yield.
Lean growth is highly correlated with feed efficiency. A sire with a positive EPD for pounds lean will produce offspring that yield a higher percentage of lean and have a greater chance of obtaining full-value on a lean-based carcass grid.
